Mark Fenning has taken 1^st place in Moving Image Arts (CCEA) at AS level for his short movie ‘Malice’. This exam involves studying and making movies in experimental and imaginative ways. Mark’s winning movie ‘Malice’ was a reworking of Alice in Wonderland and included shooting the film in a number of locations and extensive editing on the computer to create an atmospheric and magical movie.

No, it's not a new extreme sport which involves carol singing whilsts bungee jumping, its 'Adrenaline', the senior Christian Union having some festive fun with singing.

Year 13 and 14 pupils, accompanied by some teachers, decided to spread some Christmas cheer to the sick and elderly patients of Whiteabbey hospital on the evening of Monday 17th December. Dressed to look festive, they sang carols and Christmas songs in several different wards whilst some patients and visitors even joined in as they sang. Afterwards they enjoyed some well deserved mince pies and donuts.

The Art department and Home Economics Dept linked their Christmas lessons. While the Art department produced beautifully created bags the Home Economics Dept were preparing and cooking the Shortbread. These will make a wonderful present for parents or grandparents. Unfortunately a lot of the shortbread didn’t make it home. It had to be sampled on the way, and was found to be very tasty. So for those who need to make a new batch My Year 8 class have typed up the recipe for you to try again at home.

Mock interviews were organised for sixth form students on the 10th December to help them with their interview skills. A team of H.R. managers and local business employers gave up their time to come into school and work with our students. Naturally they had worked up quite a hunger and needed to be fed!
