SEP - Conservation Garden Project |
Pupils in yr 9 and 10 who helped plan a conservation garden for Edmund rice college last year went back for a visit this week for a visit to see how the work was progressing. Their garden area is almost complete and pupils had an enjoyable time wandering through the woodland, willow tunnels and nature trails. Pupils involved were Aaron Cochrane, Robert Holmes, David Higginson and Grant Butler.

Young Enterprise Key Programme Graduation 27th May 2010 |
On Thursday 27th May the year 11 Young Enterprise team travelled to the Waterfront Hall for Graduation 2010. After a lovely breakfast we were seated in the main hall awaiting the arrival of the VIP guests and parents. A group of boys from the Belfast camp started off the day playing the African drums, while a slideshow of all the groups was shown. After a few speeches all of the Year 11 pupils went on stage to collect their certificates. We were then treated to a performance from a West End group called Incognito, which had everyone in the Waterfront Hall on their feet clapping and singing.
The most exciting part of the day was the announcement of the winners of the Canada trip. This is an all expenses paid trip to Canada in August for 12 pupils out of a total of 900. From each group, consisting of 3 different schools, one pupil was nominated. This pupil was selected by the Young Enterprise staff as the best all round pupil in terms of participation, enthusiasm, friendliness and general commitment to the programme. We were delighted that Sarah McNutt was nominated for this amazing award. The whole group was behind her as they called out the winners, cheering her on and waving our banners and we were extremely pleased for her to be selected to attend this event. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Sarah and she is a completely deserving winner. Congratulations to all our graduates for their achievements, but special congratulations to Sarah and good luck on her trip to Canada in August
