Flying High with Bombardier |
|
On Sunday 19th October 2008, 75 pupils and staff from Glengormley High School and Edmund Rice College, took to the air courtesy of Bombardier. We met at school at 8.15 and headed for the George Best City Airport. After checking in and passing through security we spent a little time in the departure lounge before boarding our plane. Our flight, BE8400, was from the City Airport to destinations unknown. We flew with Flybe on a Q400 (Q stands for quiet). Our pilot informed us that we would be flying down Belfast Lough, along the coast of County Down, across to the Isle of Man and back.

Sharing Education - The Ganaway Days |
|
On Tuesday 10th June 2008, 70 pupils and staff from Glengormley High School and Edmund Rice College headed to Ganaway Activity Centre in Millisle. This was the final event of the year for our Sharing Education Programme.
The year began with an Ice Breaker Workshop in Mossley Mill in November 2007. This was an introductory workshop for the two classes to meet each other. In March 2008 we had a series of Citizenship workshops in both schools on the topic of symbols. The pupils looked at symbols that were important to them and discussed why some symbols may offend other people. The pupils were quite surprised to discover that they had a lot of symbols in common.
